Russell & Nadine Barnes are highly experienced dancers and dance tutors, each having over 25 years' teaching experience in both a studio setting and through the Community Education system. Trained by well-known dance teachers, Maurice & Judy Taylor, they have been running their own dance studio in Te Atatu Peninsula for six years.
Both started their dancing careers at a very early age and in 1972, at 13 years of age, were the youngest couple to win the New Zealand Junior Open Ballroom Event.
In the years following, they won numerous top New Zealand Amateur and Professional titles, culminating in them representing New Zealand in the World Professional Championships in 1980 where they were placed 13th in the Ballroom Section, 5th in the Latin American and 7th in New Vogue.
Since retiring from the competitve scene, they are delighted to have taught many Aucklanders how to enjoy themselves on the dance floor, and whilst they have enjoyed a high-powered competitive dance career themselves, they recognise and respect the fact that many clients just want to learn to dance socially for their own satisfaction.
They would welcome the chance to introduce you to the fun of dancing and look forward to you contacting them. |
